NHRA Funny Car Ace Robert Hight to Appear at St. Louis Auto Show
NHRA Funny Car Driver, Robert Hight will be making a special appearance at the AAA display on Saturday, January 30 from 12:00 – 2:00 at the upcoming St. Louis Auto Show to sign autographs for show attendees. The AAA Insurance Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car will also be on display at the AAA display throughout the show.
2016 marks Hight’s 12th season behind the wheel of the 320-mph AAA Insurance Chevrolet Camaro SS Funny Car. Hight is currently the 4th all-time winningest Funny Car driver in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, and he’s not stopping there.
Adding to the racing legacy of John Force Racing, this intense 46-year-old has taken the Auto Club Funny Car to more final rounds (56), won more races (36) and started from the No. 1 qualifying position more often in the last decade than any other professional Funny Car driver. With two wins in 2015, Hight continued a streak of eleven straight seasons in which he won multiple NHRA national events while qualifying No. 1 at least once along the way.
Hight began driving the Auto Club Funny Car in 2005, getting his first win in just his fourth pro race on his way to earning the Auto Club’s Road to the Future Award as the NHRA Rookie of the Year. Perhaps his greatest accomplishment so far came in 2009, when Hight captured his first ever NHRA Funny Car Championship. Since that time Hight has always been a top contender for the championship producing numerous performance records along the way.
